From the Brighlights Organising Committee,

The Brightlights Festival is a unique event which incorporates an impressive line-up of speakers, workshops, drama, prayer, Reconciliation, Mass, and live music every year in June.

Brightlights is a place where young adults can discover something more about themselves, others and God in a safe and relaxed environment; a place to experience something of the depth and diversity of the Catholic Church and share faith and experiences with others of the same age-group and outlook.

People who go to Brightlights will tell you how the festival nourishes and sustains their faith. They returned to their lives, their work, their parishes renewed and recommitted to living their Christian faith and vocation more deeply. Brightlights offers an experience of Church which is engaging and enjoyable. Religion ceases to be 'something that other people do' or 'something I just do on a Sunday' and begins to become 'relevant to me and the whole of my life'.

This year we are excited to be joined by the RISE Theater Company who will be performing 'Romero – Heartbeat of El Salvador' a powerful original production, looking at the life and legacy of a man who chose to challenge those in power and stand up for social justice. And as always at Brightlights we will have a fantastic line up of music, this year we welcome back One Hope Project and Guvna B among others.

We will be sharing times of prayer and Eucharistic celebration with Archbishop Bernard Longley. There will also be a Reconciliation service and opportunities throughout the weekend for silent prayer, worship with our worship leaders and Adoration with Youth 2000.

The cost of the event is significantly subsidised and tickets start at only £56, including full access to the event and all food over the weekend. We can also help with transportation to and from the festival which takes place at Alton Castle in Staffordshire.
