Voluntary helpers in the Liverpool Hospitalité of Our Lady of Lourdes welcome and care for all other pilgrims. In particular, Hospitaliers care for pilgrims who are sick, disabled or requiring assistance. The work is varied and can be very demanding, both physically and emotionally. Due to the nature of the work Hospitaliers should be fit and emotionally stable. Hospitaliers must be at least 18 years of age.
Worried about accommodation? Then we can help – just ask!

Still not sure? See what Siobhan has to say...
I’m Siobhan and I’m the link between Hospitalité and the Youth. I spent 7 years on Coach 4 and they were honestly the best years, filled with many happy memories and new friendships. As my time on the Youth Pilgrimage came to an end I didn’t know what to do, I didn’t feel ready for Hospitalité. To be truthful, I felt scared and like I didn’t have the skills other Hospitaliers seemed to possess. I sat at home for two years, looking at tweets, facebook photos and feeling very miserable that I wasn’t there and part of it all!
I took the leap and with a friend signed up for Hospitalité. I have to say, it was the best decision I ever made. I don’t think they’ll be a year I now that I don’t travel to Lourdes as part of the Hospitalité. Any worries I had faded within my first day. I was never ‘forced’ or ‘made’ to anything I felt uncomfortable with. I was never made to feel inadequate, in fact quite the opposite. It was the same week, in the same place, but a whole new experience. I would never change my time as Youth, but I feel that my week now has a whole new depth.
I’m really passionate about getting more of the youth to join Hospitalité when their time on the Youth Pilgrimage comes to an end. Hopefully you’ll have already seen me before, but I’m here to answer any questions you may have. Don’t spend this summer sat at home miserable, longingly refreshing facebook and twitter. Be a part of something amazing. Be a part of our Liverpool Hospitalité.
