Work of Animate Youth Ministries

The Animate Team work with a variety of Schools and Parishes, in and outside of the Archdiocese of Liverpool.

Each year we are successfully working with over 10,000 young people from the Diocese through our work in schools and parishes, the annual Lourdes Pilgrimage, Youth Alive Masses, Retreat weekends, World Youth Day, and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist Training.

We welcome groups to Lowe House, here in St. Helens for Day Retreats in our Life and Soul Cafe.

The theme of the Day Retreats is chosen by the School or Parish to make the retreats unique and special to the group. Examples of past themes are: 'Let your light shine', 'We are One Body', 'Advent', and 'Making choices for the future'.

One of the highlights of our work is the opportunities we get to meet young people and staff in schools on a Mission Week.

This is essentially a week of retreat days based around one theme that the school has chosen. It's a wonderful time to really get to look at the theme in depth and share our own faith experiences with the staff and pupils alike.

The theme is chosen by the school and can be anything that the staff and pupils want to focus on. Examples of past themes are: 'Be the face of mercy', 'Faith in Action: Living out the Gospel message', 'Blessed are the Peacemakers', and 'Who do you say I am?'

Over the past 12 months, we have worked with St. Peter's, Orrell, St. Mary's, Leyland, SS. Peter and Paul, Widnes and All Hallows, Penwortham for a Mission Week.

We are look forward to working with Our Lady's, Fulwood and Hope Academy, Newton-le-Willows over the next few months for their special Mission Weeks.
